Marketplace & Modernization changes for suppliers

In 2023, the provincial government announced the modernization of the alcohol marketplace to create more convenience and choice for consumers. These changes have included allowing more retailers to sell alcohol, LCBO becoming the exclusive wholesaler for all retail, bars and restaurants selling alcohol, and the introduction of a new wholesale pricing model. Modernization continues with the introduction of a more open listing process for wholesale catalogues and supporting programs. 

At the same time, LCBO has embarked on a multi-year program called Future State Modernization (FSM) that will strengthen our IT systems, and streamline our business. On April 1, we rolled out new systems and updates that included changes the way suppliers action POs, and view invoices and payments. We are now preparing for future releases that look at how to further enhance our operations and our customer and stakeholder experience.
