Starting September 5, 2024, uniform pricing will no longer apply for licensed retailers, including The Beer Store, grocery and convenience stores, and off-site winery retail stores as well as licensed manufacturers with a retail store, which means that they can set their own retail prices. LCBO and LCBO Convenience Outlets (LCOs) will maintain uniform pricing.
Promotional Limited Time Offers (LTOs) in LCBO retail stores will no longer impact pricing in other retail channels, including grocery stores and TBS.
Making price changes
The process for making price changes for wine, spirits, RTD and cider remains unchanged.
Starting August 26, beer suppliers who wish to change TBS retail or TBS licensee pricing are required to submit price changes to TBS instead of LCBO.
Brands sold at the LCBO or LCOs must continue to submit price changes to the LCBO, as this will impact the retail price at the LCBO/LCO stores and the wholesale price for grocery and convenience stores and TBS. These products have an assigned LCBO brand number. Here is a summary of pricing processes for domestic and imported brands which are listed at LCBO or LCO stores:
Ontario (domestic) brands
You must:
· Continue to opt in for weekly price changes and complete the Quote Submission Form by 4pm on Mondays to have a price change effective by the second Monday thereafter.
· Provide vendor quotes and ensure the quote meets the desired retail price. LCBO’s Pricing calculators can help you determine the vendor quote. Vendors can review the implemented retail prices through the price bulletins.
· Follow the existing LCBO listing process new brand submissions to the LCBO. The vendor must work directly with TBS when listing new items with TBS.
Non-Ontario (imported) brands
You must:
· Submit price changes according to the Schedule of Quote Increases. As a result of the new Schedule of Quote Increases above, the vendor may choose to submit a rebate request.
