Upcoming changes to wholesale pricing

On April 1, 2026, a new wholesale pricing model will be implemented in support of the provincial government’s commitment to a more open, equitable, and competitive beverage alcohol marketplace that benefits consumers and businesses.

What you should know about the wholesale pricing model

- Your purchase price will no longer depend on the LCBO retail price. Instead of getting a discount on the LCBO retail price (as you do today), your wholesale price will be determined by adding mark-ups and fees to the alcohol supplier’s price.

- This new model is based on a uniform wholesale price that is expected to create a more level-playing field for LCBO’s wholesale customers since the wholesale price is consistent, regardless of the business (e.g. grocery, convenience and LCBO retail).

- You may continue to set your own retail prices, subject to Minimum Retail Pricing regulations.
