LCBO has embarked on a multi-year program called Future State Modernization (FSM) that will strengthen our IT systems, and streamline our processes, improving our operations for our company and our stakeholders. Some of the benefits of FSM will include improved inventory management, warehouse and transportation management improvements and a simplified claims process.
FSM is a critical enabler of marketplace modernization, including LCBO becoming the exclusive wholesaler of record in Ontario in January 2026, as announced by the provincial government. Expect more details about this in the following weeks.
Key changes that will impact duty free starting January 1, 2026
The way your order from the LCBO will change. You will transition to a new online ordering platform, which is used other wholesale customers. Supported by our eCommerce site, this new platform will provide a more integrated experience by offering a single platform for ordering, and processing claims.
We are also making some process changes including inventory reservation at our warehouses to improve fill rates for LCBO supplied products, and more Ontario suppliers managing fulfillment and delivery of duty free orders.
