Trade partners,

LCBO's Quality Assurance department supports the organization’s mission of ensuring Ontarians have access to safe, authentic, quality products that are compliant with all regulations. As such, we’d like to bring your attention to the following updates:

The Safe Food for Canadians Regulations and Canadian Food Inspection Agency require anyone who imports organic products to present a valid organic certificate when requested at any time, including at the time of import.

To support this requirement, suppliers or agents must now submit an Organic Declaration Attestation form—in addition to the organic product certificate and label artwork (if available)—at the time of product setup and any other time upon request. You will also note that the Quote letter now includes a field to identify organic products.

This updated process will help validate organic product submissions prior to shipping and will facilitate a quicker turnaround on organic products validation by minimizing delays for missing certificates or incomplete submissions.

This updated process is effective immediately for products imported through Specialty Services and an effective date for other agents will be communicated at a later date. For more details, please consult Organic Products Importation for Specialty Services.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your B2B representative, who guide you through the updated process.
