The LCBO sends promotional emails, including LCBO Offers, myLCBO newsletter, and Vintages Latest, through a third-party service provider. On August 9, 2023, we were informed that an unauthorized party gained access to certain LCBO subscriber data.
The personal information that may have been accessed in connection with this issue primarily includes first name and email address. LCBO’s email subscriber data does not include password or financial information, so no credit card, debit card, or other financial information was involved in this incident.
No LCBO systems, including LCBO.com and our mobile App, were impacted in connection with this issue.
Out of an abundance of caution, we are contacting all affected subscribers directly with more information. We know that in addition to being valued partners, you may also be an LCBO email subscriber and we sincerely regret any inconvenience or concern that this incident may have caused.
To ensure minimal disruption to our communications with subscribers, we will resume promotional emails as soon as all third-party investigations have been completed. In the meantime, we will share product and offer information via LCBO.com as well as our social media channels.
