Through Spirit of Sustainability, the LCBO is committed to championing equitable representation and building communities where all individuals have access to the opportunities they need to thrive. As you know, we’ve launched the Spirit of Inclusion Initiative – a program designed to create opportunities for diverse women to enter, advance and thrive in the beverage alcohol industry. Through Good Partnerships with Trade partners like you, Ontario education institutions, and charitable organizations, we will provide bursaries and scholarships, facilitate mentorship relationships, and identify paid co-op placements for diverse women who are looking to begin or advance their careers in the winery, brewery, and distillery fields.

The program has already received support from Charton Moët Hennessy, DIAGEO and Labatt Breweries of Canada who are joining our vision to enhance industry diversity. You can find more details about the program and our Good Partners here.

Facilitating meaningful, long-term relationships between women in the industry and creating space for women to address shared issues is a critical part of our success. With support from Vinequity, we are in the process of coordinating a Spirit of Inclusion Initiative mentorship program and we’re looking for mentors who share our values.

If you or your employees are interested in becoming a Spirit of Inclusion Initiative Mentor, please review the resources we developed for our partners on the Spirit of Sustainability hub on Doing Business with the LCBO.

We've also developed resources to support you sharing these opportunities with your colleagues and networks. The hub includes a shareable document on how eligible students can apply for scholarships, bursaries, and programming.

The Spirit of Inclusion Initiative is open to Canadians who self-identify as women from backgrounds currently underrepresented in the beverage alcohol industry, and who require financial support to complete their education.
