The LCBO will introduce Minimum Wholesale Prices (MWPs) for wine effective June 22, 2026.  MWPs represent the minimum price LCBO will charge when selling wine to all wholesale customers (excluding Duty Free), inclusive of HST and container deposit.

MWPs apply to:
    • Grocery and convenience stores
    • Hospitality licensees
    • LCBO Convenience Outlets (LCOs)
    • LCBO retail
    • Direct Delivery wholesale sales to LCOs and hospitality licensees (including by-the-glass sales)
    • Sales via Specialty services whether they are ordered for private consumers or hospitality licensees.

MWPs do not apply to spirits, beer, cider, wine coolers, ready‑to‑drink beverages.

Suppliers wishing to re‑quote wine products:
    • The supplier quote submission deadline has extended to 12:00PM EST, Friday, May 29.
    • Wholesale price changes associated with these quotes will be reflected starting June 22, 2026.

Quotes must be submitted using the Quote Submission Form and emailed to pricing@lcbo.com.

For products participating in the LCBO Retail LTO program during Period 4 2026/27, the wholesale price will be brought to the MWP where applicable. LCBO retail prices will be reviewed based on the MWP and adjusted if necessary, by the Category team. Channel Dependent

Minimum Wholesale Prices are different depending on the wholesale channel:
    • Table A: LCBO Retail, LCBO Convenience Outlets (LCOs), and hospitality licensees.
    • Table B: grocery and convenience retailers.

LCBO only accepts one quote per SKU. If a SKU is sold to grocery and convenience, then the Minimum Wholesale Price for grocery and convenience would be applied to that SKU.

If a product’s quoted wholesale price is below the applicable minimum, LCBO will adjust wholesale prices to ensure compliance with the MWP.

Future Adjustments:
Beginning April 1, 2027, MWPs in Table A will be adjusted annually using a similar index factor to Minimum Retail Pricing as set out in Schedule 1 of O. Reg. 750/21. Updated MWPs will be published alongside Minimum Retail Prices.
