The new wholesale pricing model was implemented today. As we previously announced, LCBO will now purchase domestic product as excise paid and not excise deferred, meaning that domestic suppliers must include excise in any requotes submitted on or after February 26, 2026.
What do I need to do?
If you factored excise tax into your quote, nothing is required. If you did not factor excise tax into your quote, we are providing a short period of time to correct your quote. You may update your supplier quote, with excise tax included, and submit to pricing@lcbo.com by 12pm on April 2. The price change will be expedited and become effective by April 6 or earlier, based on processing time.
As a reminder, domestic suppliers are now responsible for managing all excise payments to Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). You will receive supporting documents from LCBO to claim the excise tax back from CRA at the end of the reporting period.
Our Pricing and Traffic teams remain available to offer support or answer any questions you may have.
